An Algerian groom failed to recognize his bride after taking off her make-up the morning after their wedding.
According to the groom, he woke up to find a total stranger lying beside him on the bed, the morning after their wedding night.
Immediately he assumed the lady was a thief, who broke into his home.
The poor guy now feeling cheated and deceived is sueing his wife for damages, seeking $20,000 (£13,000).
According to reports, the groom swore in court that he even mistook his wife for a thief who came to steal in his apartment.
He said she deceived him as she used to fill up her face with make up before their marriage, newspaper said, quoting a court source.
He said that she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief.
